My Process
I photograph that which I desire to know...
“All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt.”
-Susan Sontag
It is the connection to the people that keeps me interested. It is knowing them, living with them and spending the minute, hours, days and months with people that makes me want to photograph a person. I call this "relating". I've always been a relator. Sometimes I don't know if it's photography or the connection with a person that makes me happier.
