Afghanistan Segment of Girl Risin

Just finished the Afghanistan segment of 10x10's documentary film Girl Rising.  This incredible project tells the harrowing stories nine different girls around the world who want to be educated.  It was an honor to work on this film about LaMeena (not her real name) who was not allowed to go to school, was forced into marriage when she was  11 years old and had a baby when she was twelve.   When LaMeena was fourteen she fought against all odds to return to school and continue her education.

Working to bring LaMeena's story to life was one of the most rewarding projects I've ever worked on.  Educating girls like her is the answer to 85% of the worlds problems from poverty, to disease, to war. The future of man lies in girls like her.

This project has been a dream come true.  The topic of love can be consuming, whether a person is falling in or out of love.  Working with this as a theme was extremely inspiring to me, especially because of Zach+Mimi.  They were so open and giving.  Allowing me a chance to be a witness some very personal moments that represent their relationship.  The commercial is being cut now and I will be posting it shortly.
